Delivery of New B&W Printer

Printer Delivery

Last week the B&W printer was delivered after waiting 4 months from the time I pre-ordered it. The purpose of this printer is to be able the print the inside pages for books that are short runs of around 1000 copies or less. The cost is less on this machine than to print the B&W pages on the color printer and it is also twice as fast as the color printer. I am thankful to God for being able to have this printer in His print shop.

Difficulties

This printer is newer and in good condition. However that does not mean there was no difficulties. It has a mysterious issue with tiny white spots inside the letters. The technicians from the store where I purchased the machine worked on it for two days. Their efforts improved the problem to an acceptable level. I am thankful for their efforts and willingness to help.

I have also had God’s blessings in helping to configure the printer’s settings. It was having issues with the alignment being drastically off. It turns out that I had to enable the deactivation of auto-align for the larger paper trays. Then manually set the paper alignment. So I am praising God that He helped me to see these setting that had to be changed.

Printing

On Friday, I started printing some books of “Fire on the Mountain.” We are working towards the first 500 copies of this book by Norma Youngberg that has been translated into the Khmer language. It is a story about a boy that is struggling between his culture and God, who is always listening to his heart’s call for help and being there to help. I pray that this book will be a blessing to the people here that have a very similar choice to make.

Please pray for God’s continued blessing for many books to be printed by this printer and that those who sit in darkness may be able to see the light of the Gospel.
